Kelly Clarkson Praises 14-Year-Old Brooklyn Marie As The Voice Teen Advances After Emotional Battle Round

At just 14 years old, Minnesota singer Brooklyn Marie is making a strong impression on The Voice. The young performer from Alexandria, Minnesota, has captured the attention of the show’s coaches and viewers with her distinctive voice, and her latest performance has brought her one step closer to the live competition.

Known by her full name, Brooklyn Ostlund, the teenager joined Team Kelly Clarkson after auditioning in front of coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and country star Riley Green. Now, she has faced her first major challenge in the Battle Rounds, where contestants must compete against their own teammates for a place in the next stage.

Brooklyn Marie Faces a Tough Battle Against Kavi Nyx

For the Battle Rounds, Clarkson paired Brooklyn with fellow Team Kelly singer Kavi Nyx. The two performed “Titanium,” the hit song released by Sia and David Guetta in 2011.

The matchup proved difficult for Clarkson, who recognized that both singers brought something distinctive to the performance. Their contrasting vocal qualities made the decision especially challenging, with each contestant offering a different interpretation of the song.

Clarkson was particularly impressed by Brooklyn’s youthful yet expressive voice. She praised the teenager’s vocal purity and described her sound as both “angelic” and nostalgic, highlighting the qualities that helped her stand out during the performance.

“You both have a quality to you that is unlike anybody in the competition,” Clarkson said before turning her attention to Brooklyn. She praised the young singer’s “purity” and described her voice as beautiful.

The comments underscored what has made Brooklyn a notable contestant this season: her ability to deliver a performance that feels distinctive despite her young age.

Kelly Clarkson Chooses Brooklyn to Advance

After weighing both performances, Clarkson ultimately selected Brooklyn Marie as the winner of the Battle. The decision sends the Minnesota teenager forward in the competition, while Nyx’s journey on Team Kelly comes to an end at this stage.

For Brooklyn, the result marks an important milestone in her The Voice journey. Competing on a national television stage can be demanding, particularly for a singer still in her teens, but she has continued to draw attention with her confidence and vocal style.

The singer has also received support from viewers in Minnesota and the wider Sioux Empire region. In the aftermath of her performance, she expressed gratitude for the encouragement she has received from people following her progress.

Her success in the Battle Rounds now sets up another important test. The competition is moving toward Cut Week, a new stage designed to determine which artists will secure places in the Live Shows.

What Comes Next for Brooklyn Marie?

Brooklyn’s advancement gives her another opportunity to demonstrate why Clarkson believes her voice has something special to offer. However, progressing through the Battle Rounds does not guarantee a place in the Live Shows, and she will need to continue delivering strong performances as the competition narrows.

For supporters back home in Alexandria and across the Sioux Empire, her progress has already become a source of excitement. At only 14, Brooklyn has reached a stage many aspiring singers dream of, and her latest victory gives her a chance to keep building momentum.

As The Voice moves into its next phase, viewers will be watching to see whether the young Minnesota singer can turn her early promise into a lasting run on the show.
