Adam Levine Calls 14-Year-Old The Voice Contestant A Revelation After Stunning Sia Cover

A 14-year-old singer left The Voice coaches impressed with her performance of “Titanium,” earning high praise from Adam Levine and ultimately winning her Battle Round matchup.

During the final night of the Battle Round on October 26, coach Kelly Clarkson paired Brooklyn Marie, 14, against Kavi Nyx, 18, for a duet of the hit by David Guetta and Sia. Both young performers delivered a memorable performance, showcasing different strengths that made the decision difficult for their coach.

During rehearsals, team advisor Ariana DeBose was struck by Marie’s raw, pure and innocent vocal quality, while Nyx stood out for her vocal range and distinctive style. Clarkson said the outcome would depend on who delivered the strongest performance on the night, and both contestants rose to the challenge.

After the performance, Levine praised Marie’s vocal ability, expressing amazement at how advanced she sounded at just 14.

“When you were hitting those airy, higher notes in your register, it was done so sweetly and beautifully and with so much purity. All in all, a really great job,” Levine said.

He then singled her out as a standout of the battle.

“Brooklyn, I think you were the revelation for me today, but Kavi you did also a great job,” he added.

Queen Latifah Is Amazed by Marie’s Vocal Ability

Queen Latifah was equally impressed by Marie’s control of the higher notes, asking the teenager, “How do you simply sing like that and hit those notes at 14?”

Levine joked that he certainly had not reached the same level at her age.

“I don’t know, man,” he said. “You should’ve seen me at 14. I was a mess.”

Queen Latifah encouraged Marie to appreciate how far she had already come, while recognizing that she still had room to develop as an artist.

“I’m sure you’re growing and learning, but where you’re at right now is so wonderful,” she told the young singer.

The coach also praised Nyx, particularly her ability to bring her own personality and musical identity to the performance. Riley Green echoed the positive feedback from the other coaches before Clarkson shared her thoughts on the two contestants.

Clarkson described Marie and Nyx as the “most unique singers on my team,” highlighting their contrasting qualities. Marie impressed her with a pure, almost angelic sound that evoked nostalgia, while Nyx brought richness and a more mature, sensual quality to the song.

Kelly Clarkson Chooses Brooklyn Marie to Advance

Despite the difficulty of the decision, Clarkson ultimately selected Marie as the winner of the battle, allowing the 14-year-old to continue her journey on The Voice.

“It was hard to pick, but Brooklyn has this sound that is so pure that breaks your heart in the best of ways. It’s really special,” Clarkson explained.

The coach also pointed to Marie’s age as an advantage in her continued development, describing her as someone who is eager to absorb new lessons and grow through experience.

“She’s so young. She’s a sponge. It’s so fun to watch younger artists grow in front of your eyes,” Clarkson said.

Although Nyx did not win the battle, Clarkson made clear that she valued both singers, telling them, “Either way I’m going to work with you afterwards, so let’s keep that in mind.”

The performance highlighted the different qualities each teenager brought to the competition, from Marie’s delicate high notes to Nyx’s distinctive interpretation. For Marie, however, the battle marked a significant step forward, with praise from multiple coaches and a place in the next stage of the competition.
