Riley Green may be one of country music’s most talked-about bachelors, but the singer has revealed that a potential girlfriend must win over two important figures in his life before things get serious.
The Voice Season 30 coach recently discussed his love life during an appearance on Today while promoting the NBC singing competition. When asked whether he would rather date someone from Nashville or his home state of Alabama, Green made it clear that location was not important to him.
“I don’t know what I’m looking for, you know? I don’t care where they live at,” he said.
However, the singer did reveal two people whose opinions could make a difference in his next relationship: his mother and his dog, Carl.
“Probably just somebody that I think my mom will like,” Green explained.

He then brought his four-legged companion into the conversation, joking that Carl should help choose his future girlfriend.
“If Carl and my mom like her — Carl’s my dog — …We should just line ’em up and have Carl see who he goes to,” he said.
Carl, an Australian cattle dog and corgi mix, is already a familiar face to Green’s fans. The dog regularly appears on the singer’s social media accounts and even has his own Instagram page. He has also appeared in advertising campaigns for Busch Light and Gildan Underwear.
While Green has kept much of his private life out of the spotlight, his comments come after years of dating rumors involving several women in the country music scene.

Megan Moroney Confirms Riley Green Inspired Her Song
One of the most widely discussed rumored relationships involved fellow country singer Megan Moroney. The pair sparked speculation in late 2024 and early 2025 after reportedly spending time together in St. Barts.
Fans also circulated a TikTok video that fueled rumors they had been spotted together in Jacksonville, Alabama, although the footage did not clearly identify the pair.
Moroney eventually addressed her connection to Green in a July 2026 interview with Cosmopolitan while discussing her album Cloud 9. She confirmed that her song Who Hurt You? was inspired by the country singer.
The track includes lyrics referencing both Georgia, where Moroney is from, and Alabama, Green’s home state.
“I was blinded by the lies / And the manufactured smile / The devil went down to Georgia / Then he crossed the Bama line,” she sings.
Although Moroney confirmed the song’s inspiration, she did not share a detailed timeline of their relationship.
Riley Green Has Also Faced Rumors With Other Country Stars
Green has also been linked to Ella Langley, particularly after the two collaborated on music. Their onstage chemistry and duets sparked speculation among fans, but both artists have said they are friends rather than a couple.
Green was previously linked to Nashville artist manager Sophia Sansone, who attended the 2022 CMA Awards with him. Neither publicly confirmed a romantic relationship.

Later, Sansone discussed a controlling relationship on a podcast in late 2025, prompting speculation from some listeners. However, she did not identify the person she was discussing.
Green also drew attention when he attended the November 2025 CMA Awards alongside social media influencer Bryana Ferringer. Although they did not walk the red carpet together, cameras showed them sitting next to each other during the ceremony.
The singer later addressed the rumors during an interview with Backstage Country, explaining that Ferringer was simply a friend.
For now, Green appears to be keeping his options open. But if his latest comments are any indication, anyone hoping to become his next girlfriend may need approval from both his mother and Carl first.
