Brooklyn Marie Makes a Surprising Comment About Kavi Nyx’s The Voice Exit After Their Powerful Battle Sparks Fan Backlash

Minnesota teen singer-songwriter Brooklyn Marie, 14, has shared a heartfelt reaction to fellow The Voice contestant Kavi Nyx’s elimination, revealing the close bond they developed behind the scenes. Her touching message comes as Kelly Clarkson faces criticism from viewers who believe Kavi deserved another chance in Season 30.

The two Team Kelly singers faced off during the Oct. 26 Battle Round, delivering a powerful performance of Titanium by David Guetta and Sia. Despite their different vocal styles, both teenagers impressed the coaches with their performances, leaving Clarkson with a difficult decision.

“You’re both the most unique singers on my team,” Clarkson told them. “You have a quality to you that’s unlike anyone else in the competition.”

However, Clarkson ultimately chose Brooklyn as the winner, allowing the 14-year-old Minnesota singer to advance while Kavi’s journey came to an end. Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green also passed on the opportunity to save the Atlanta singer.

The decision quickly sparked frustration among viewers, with many questioning why none of the other coaches tried to keep Kavi in the competition.

“So no one stole one of the most unique voices and singing styles The Voice has had in years?! This season would have been so much more intriguing with Kavi,” one viewer complained.

Another fan declared, “Kavi was the clear winner,” while someone else wrote, “Can’t believe Kavi didn’t win this!!!”

Kavi had already established herself as one of the season’s most distinctive performers during the Blind Auditions. Her emotional rendition of Billie Eilish’s Wildflower earned chair turns from Clarkson and Levine, with her unusual vocal style quickly attracting attention.

Following the backlash, the 18-year-old singer finally addressed her elimination in an Instagram video, thanking supporters for the encouraging messages she had received.

“Hey guys, I just wanted to come on here real quick to say I’ve been seeing your comments and I’m super grateful for all of your love and support,” Kavi said.

Although she tried to remain positive, the singer admitted that leaving the competition so early was difficult.

“I guess I can’t say I’m not upset about not making it further into the show,” she confessed.

Kavi also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to appear on The Voice, explaining that representing her culture on such a major platform meant a great deal to her. However, one part of her message particularly caught viewers’ attention.

Rather than focusing on the controversial decision, Kavi spoke warmly about Brooklyn and the friendship they had built throughout the competition. She revealed that they had been close since the Blind Auditions and were excited to discover they would become Battle partners.

“And the way I saw her grow as well as me grow on the show was really beautiful, and we’ve developed such an amazing bond,” Kavi shared.

She also made sure to congratulate her former competitor, leaving a sweet message for the teenager who secured her place in the next round.

“And Brookie, I’m so proud of you. You are incredible, and I wish you luck for the rest of your journey.”

Brooklyn did not leave the message unanswered. The Minnesota teenager responded in the comments, writing, “Love you so much, @kavi.nyx27! This is just the beginning!!!!!”

Her response showed that the result had not affected their friendship, despite the heated debate among fans.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn is preparing for the next stage of her The Voice journey. The 14-year-old singer-songwriter from Alexandria, Minnesota, has attracted national attention with her performances on Team Kelly.
