50 Cent is NOT here for a fake ‘Power’ reunion — especially one that doesn’t include his blessing.
The G-Unit boss just threw some major shade at Power creator Courtney A. Kemp after news broke that she’s launching a new Netflix crime drama, Nemesis, which is clearly cut from the Power cloth. Even worse (in Fif’s eyes)? It stars Power alum Shane Johnson — aka Cooper freakin’ Saxe.
Taking to Instagram, 50 let his feelings fly like bullets in a season finale:
“Nah this ain’t it a POWER reunion with one cast member. I don’t know none of these 🥷🏽’s. Ain’t nobody jackin’ this shit! LOL.”
BANG.
Saxe himself — or rather, Shane Johnson — clapped back in the comments trying to soften the blow, saying:
“Yeah, but bro… we’re talking SAXE! That’s enough, man!”
Cute. But 50 wasn’t buying it. After all, this is his universe. This is his vision. And to him, this looks like a low-budget Power clone trying to ride off the legacy he built from scratch — without giving him his cut or credit.
Let’s get real — it’s no secret 50 and STARZ have had a rocky relationship. From accusing them of dragging their feet on new seasons to straight-up calling them “crazy” and “unprofessional,” Fif has never been shy about his disdain for corporate fumbling. And now, seeing Kemp jump ship and take his formula to Netflix without him? Yeah… that’s gonna spark fireworks.
Meanwhile, 50’s not done with the Power universe. He recently teased a new spin-off: Power Origins, a Young Ghost and Tommy prequel that fans have been begging for.
“You asked, I answered,” he wrote. “Young Ghost and Tommy coming your way. Power Origins now in development.”
So while Nemesis tries to run with the formula, 50 is sitting on Power’s DNA — the kind of backstory that fans are emotionally invested in. The real story.
But here’s the real question: Is Courtney Kemp trying to create her own empire without 50? Or is this just a weak imitation of a classic that never should’ve been touched without the king’s blessing?
Let the comments section decide.
