Cassie Tries To Block Diddy’s Attempt To Seize Her Tell-All Book & Bank Statements

Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting tooth and nail to suppress damaging material — and it’s not just video footage anymore. His ex-girlfriend Cassie has revealed the music mogul is attempting to obtain access to a book she wrote about him, along with her private bank records.

According to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team served Cassie a subpoena demanding she hand over:

  • Any draft memoirs, autobiographies, diaries, or personal notes related to her time with Diddy

  • Any communications regarding plans to publish such material

  • Her bank statements

A $30 Million Ultimatum?

Per Diddy’s legal filings, Cassie allegedly told him she had written a memoir and gave him a $30 million ultimatum — pay up or she publishes it.

Diddy reportedly refused the deal. Not long after, in November 2023, Cassie filed a bombshell civil lawsuit against him, accusing the Bad Boy Records founder of sexual assault and sex trafficking. The lawsuit was settled within 24 hours, raising questions about what was at stake.

Now, as Diddy faces increasing legal and public scrutiny, he’s attempting to retrieve any materials Cassie might have — potentially to stop their public release or use in court.

Attempting to Discredit Assault Video

In addition to targeting Cassie’s writings and finances, Diddy is now trying to undermine video evidence showing him assaulting her in a hotel hallway in 2016 — footage that sent shockwaves across the music industry.

A forensic expert hired by his legal team, Conor McCourt, claims:

  • The CNN video was allegedly “sped up” during a process called transcoding, altering how it appears.

  • An iPhone recording of the footage makes Diddy look “larger,” supposedly exaggerating the impact of the attack.

  • Timecode inconsistencies make it “unclear what happened during gaps in the video.”

McCourt ultimately states that “none of the available video files are accurate and reliable copies of the original.”

Damage Control or Desperation?

Federal prosecutors claim to have possession of the original surveillance footage, which may render Diddy’s claims moot. But even as Diddy issued a public apology for his actions in the video — calling his behavior “inexcusable” — he’s also actively trying to keep that same footage out of court.

Diddy’s attempt to block Cassie’s memoir, suppress financial records, and discredit widely circulated assault evidence paints a picture of a man at legal war on multiple fronts — not just with his accusers, but with the narrative itself.

The Bigger Question

If Diddy didn’t want the public to know what happened — why settle the lawsuit so quickly? Why scramble to block a memoir? Why attack the credibility of video footage he already apologized for?

As Cassie continues to fight for her voice, Diddy seems determined to make sure it stays silenced — no matter what it costs.
