Jimmy Fallon, the host of a big TV show called The Tonight Show, recently said a song called “You Look Like You Love Me” is his favorite right now. The song is sung by two country singers from Alabama named Ella Langley and Riley Green. They performed it on his show on a Monday night.
Before they started singing, Ella said something special. She wanted to honor Veterans Day, a day to thank people who have served in the military, so she dedicated the song to them. Ella wore a black dress with some gold on it and cool black boots. Riley wore a cowboy hat, jeans, and a button-up shirt while playing his guitar.
Ella began the song by talking the first part, and then Riley sang his part. Together, they sang the catchy chorus: “Excuse me, you look like you love me, you look like you want me, to want you to come on home.” It’s a fun song about noticing someone who seems to like you a lot!
While they were in New York City for the show, Ella and Riley got a big surprise. They were given special awards because their song had gone “platinum,” which means it sold a ton of copies—over a million! The song is super popular and is doing great on country music radio stations, where it’s almost one of the top 10 songs.
The song is also up for a big award called Musical Event of the Year at the CMA Awards, which is like the biggest party for country music. It’s competing against other songs by famous singers like Post Malone and Kelsea Ballerini. The awards show will happen on November 20 in Nashville, and you can watch it on TV or online the next day.
“You Look Like You Love Me” is part of Ella’s first album, called Still Hungover. She just added some new songs to it, like “Girl You’re Taking Home” and “20-20,” along with other ones fans love.
Next year, Ella and Riley will travel together for Riley’s Damn Country Music Tour, starting in March and ending in August. Tons of people—over 100,000—bought tickets in just eight hours! Ella is also doing her own tour called the Still Hungover Tour, and it sold out super fast, so she added more shows.
