The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 5 brought together some of the biggest names in rock and metal for a night of unforgettable performances.
Eminem’s Special Performance
One of the highlights of the evening was Eminem’s induction into the Hall of Fame. To mark the occasion, he performed his 2002 hit “Sing for the Moment”, which samples Aerosmith’s classic song “Dream On”. Steven Tyler himself joined Eminem on stage to sing the iconic hook.
Adding to the moment, Ed Sheeran also took the stage, playing guitar and singing the hook from Eminem’s 2000 song “Stan”, which originally sampled Dido’s song “Thank You”.
Eminem’s Acceptance Speech
During his speech, Eminem—whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III—gave a long list of hip-hop legends who inspired him, calling them “rock stars” in their own right. He mentioned artists like Ice Cube, Ice-T, and Cypress Hill, hoping they would also be inducted in the future.
He also acknowledged the unusual nature of his induction, saying:
“I’m probably not supposed to be here tonight because of a couple of reasons. One, I’m a rapper, and this is the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. But I’m honored to be here.”
Other Standout Moments
The night featured many other exciting performances. Judas Priest rocked the stage with a special guest—country music icon Dolly Parton—to perform her hit song “Jolene”.
Judas Priest also reunited with former guitarist K.K. Downing and former drummer Les Binks, marking their first time playing together in over 13 and 43 years, respectively. The band delivered an electrifying set, performing “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” “Breaking the Law,” and “Living After Midnight”—a historic moment as it was the first time they ever played with three guitarists and two drummers.
The night was a true celebration of music history, blending rock, rap, and country, proving once again that music has no boundaries.
