Rap legend Eminem lit up Los Angeles with a rare and unforgettable performance at BMO Stadium on August 3, 2024. The surprise set came ahead of the highly anticipated WB junior middleweight boxing match between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov — and fans went wild.
The Detroit icon kicked off the 15-minute show with his latest chart-topping hit “Houdini” from his 12th solo album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). The crowd roared as he launched into a high-energy medley of his biggest hits.
Eminem brought the heat with lightning-fast verses from “Rap God”, shouted out his favorite fighter with, “Yo California, make some motherf—kin’ noise for Terence Crawford!”, then kept the momentum going with crowd-favorite “Till I Collapse” featuring Nate Dogg and a quick teaser of Queen’s “We Will Rock You.”
He wrapped up the set with motivational anthem “Cinderella Man” and finished strong with his most iconic track, “Lose Yourself” — sending the crowd into a frenzy before the main event even began.
The epic performance was in support of Terence Crawford, whom Eminem had previously walked out for a Vegas fight last year. And the energy clearly worked — Crawford won the fight by unanimous decision with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113, making him a four-division world champion.
Speaking to ESPN after the match, Crawford praised Madrimov as a tough opponent: “He’s strong, durable, and had quick feet and smart rhythm. He kept me sharp all the way to Round 12.”
This marks Eminem’s second surprise performance in recent months. In June, he made waves with a special four-song set during Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central, sharing the stage with Diana Ross, Big Sean, Jack White, and more. And just last month, he performed alongside Dr. Dre in London to help launch Dre’s new Gin & Juice drinks line.
