In the latest episode of her show, “Just A Little Shady”, titled “Introducing My FIANCÉ,” Hailie and her fiancé Evan McClintock opened up about how he asked the Rap God himself for permission to propose.
Evan Shares the Moment He Asked Eminem for Permission
Evan recalled how the moment unfolded during a family gathering over the holidays.
“I was just looking for the right opportunity to not make it too obvious,” Evan said on the podcast. “I saw your dad go downstairs and thought, ‘Alright, I’ve got to do it right now, or it’s not happening today.’ So I followed him — and luckily, he was just grabbing your cake.”
Hailie chimed in, adding:
“You went through the whole thing, you asked for permission… at a family gathering.”
Alaina Marie Mathers Helped With the Ring
Evan also shared that Alaina Marie Mathers, Hailie’s sister, played a key role in helping him choose the perfect engagement ring.
“She pointed me in the right direction, ultimately,” he said.
Although Evan felt confident at first, he admitted to second-guessing his choice when Hailie later said she had “no idea” what kind of ring she wanted — after he had already ordered it. Still, the proposal turned out to be a success.

This episode comes just weeks after Hailie officially announced her engagement on Instagram. The post featured a carousel of beautiful photos of the couple, with the caption:

Eminem’s Reaction to His Daughter’s Relationship
Back in 2020, Eminem briefly spoke about Hailie’s relationship during an appearance on Mike Tyson’s Hot Boxin’ podcast, saying:
“No babies. She has a boyfriend, but she’s doing good. She made me proud for sure… When I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m most proud of — being able to raise kids.”
