Kelly Osbourne said she was so concerned by her own dramatic weight loss that she wore a wig to this year’s Grammy Awards to conceal her appearance.
The 41-year-old, who has been open about her struggles after losing her father Ozzy Osbourne last July, made the heartbreaking admission in a new interview released this weekend.

Kelly said she had “no idea” she’d lost so much weight until she saw a photo taken during a dress fitting for the awards ceremony, which took place in February 2026.
“I looked like the f–king Crypt Keeper,” she told The Mail on Sunday. “I said, ‘This is scary. I didn’t know I looked like this’. My spine – you could see every single bone.”
Kelly said family and friends had voiced their concerns, but she couldn’t see it in herself as she was so engulfed with grief from her father’s passing.
Fearing her appearance might draw away from the focus of her father’s legacy – which was celebrated at the awards show – Kelly decided to wear a wig “to cover my face, so you couldn’t see how skinny my cheekbones really were.”
“I was scared. I wanted to be there to support my mum and to pay tribute to my father’s legacy. But in all honesty, when I reflect on it, I don’t think I should have gone. I wasn’t very well,” she said.
In a recent interview with Hello! Magazine, Osbourne said she was now focusing on taking things day-by-day, particularly for her three-year-old son, Sidney.
“You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body… It’s going to take me a minute,” she said.
“I’m not going to be fixed in a day. I’m not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”

The singer added that her current mindset was “a lot more healthy” as she got to know herself in this new way.
Kelly, who is also in therapy, said it had been interesting to discover things about herself through this process too.
Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025, and Kelly was open about her heartache when she shared her own tribute on social media.
She first addressed the backlash to her sudden weight loss on Piers Morgan Uncensored in December 2025.
“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like, ‘Are you ill, or ‘Get off Ozempic,’ or ‘You don’t look right’ … to all those people, f–k off,” she said.
“My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can.”
She now plans to document her grief and recover in a three-part television series, detailing what she went through in a bid to help others.
