Kelly Osbourne admits she didn’t recognize herself amid her weight loss following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, the former reality star, 41, said she had “no idea” how thin she’d become in 2025 until she saw a photo of herself in a fitting for the 2026 Grammy Awards.

“I looked like the f—ing Crypt Keeper,” Kelly told the outlet, referring to a ghoulish character from the Tales from the Crypt horror franchise.

“I said, ‘This is scary. I didn’t know I looked like this,’ “ she continued. “My spine — you could see every single bone. I couldn’t see what other people saw because I was in so much pain. I just saw a broken person.”

The Grammy Awards, held back in February, included a tribute to Ozzy, who died at age 76.

According to a death certificate obtained by PEOPLE, the legendary rock star died of “out of hospital cardiac arrest” and “acute myocardial infarction,” with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction listed as “joint causes.”

For the event, Kelly told The Mail on Sunday she “wore a wig to cover my face, so you couldn’t see how skinny my cheekbones really were.”

She said her team also searched for a flattering outfit for her to wear on the red carpet. “They knew I was going through something. So, we were trying to find clothes to not make me look skinnier,” Kelly explained.

“I was scared. I wanted to be there to support my mom [Sharon Osbourne] and to pay tribute to my father’s legacy, [but] I don’t think I should have gone. I wasn’t very well,” she added.

Looking back at losing her father, Kelly said to The Mail on Sunday, “You’re filled with so much pain that the feeling of hunger can’t even pop up.”

She also told the outlet that she’s tried her best to shield her 3-year-old son, Sidney — whom she shares with her ex-fiancé, Sid Wilson — from seeing her upset.

“Whenever he walked in the room, something would come over me, and I’d snap into Miss Fun Mom,” Kelly said. “I didn’t cry in front of him. … I always made sure that he was not exposed to inappropriate sorrow.”
