Meghan Trainor Loses It as Tom Jones Unleashes ‘It’s Not Unusual’—His Voice at Nearly 80 Still Unstoppable!

Some people are born to perform, and Sir Tom Jones is definitely one of them. You can feel how much he loves music every time he sings. It’s not just his amazing voice that grabs you—it’s the happiness he brings to the stage. Every show he does makes you feel good inside.

On a fun moment from The Voice UK, Olly Murs teased Sir Tom Jones about his famous song “It’s Not Unusual.” Olly said with a grin, “I haven’t heard that song in so long.” Sir Tom didn’t miss a beat. As soon as the band got ready, he jumped in and sang his classic hit perfectly, like no time had passed at all.

When he sang this, Sir Tom was almost 80 years old, but his voice was still super strong. If you’ve heard the original “It’s Not Unusual” from 1964, you’d notice his live version on The Voice sounded almost the same. His talent hasn’t faded one bit.

The audience was so excited, clapping and cheering the whole time. Even Meghan Trainor, one of the judges, couldn’t stop smiling. She looked like a kid meeting her hero, totally amazed by Sir Tom.

During the show, Olly Murs also had a great chat with Sir Tom about how “It’s Not Unusual” came to be. Sir Tom said, “I was 24 when I recorded it, and it went to number one.” That was a huge deal for him back then because he wasn’t famous yet. It was the start of his incredible journey in music.

Sir Tom explained that he recorded the song at the end of 1964, and it came out in early 1965. At first, it was meant for another singer named Sandie Shaw. Sir Tom made a practice version for her, but when Sandie heard it, she thought his singing was too good to give away. She told him to keep it. So, Sir Tom recorded it again for real, and he knew right away it would be a big hit. And he was right!
