Mick Jagger Honored His Dear Friend Tina Turner With An Emotional Tribute, Calling Her An “Enormously Talented Performer” Who Played A Pivotal Role In His Early Career

The world is saying goodbye to Tina Turner, the amazing singer called the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Famous people like Angela Bassett, Roberta Flack, and Martha Stewart are sharing kind words about her. One special message came from Mick Jagger, the leader of The Rolling Stones, who was her friend for a long time. He said he was very sad she was gone.

Mick wrote, “She was a super talented singer and performer. She helped me a lot when I was starting out, and I’ll always remember her.”

Mick and Tina met way back in the 1960s when Tina and her husband at the time, Ike Turner, sang before The Rolling Stones at concerts. Tina once told a funny story about their first meeting. She said Mick walked into her dressing room without knocking and told her, “I love how you girls dance.” She didn’t even know who he was at first!

Over the years, they sang and danced together on stage, and people loved watching them. Tina said Mick learned some of his cool dance moves from her. Mick said he didn’t copy her on purpose, but Tina laughed and said she and her dancers taught him a move called the Pony in the dressing room.

They had some really big moments together. Tina sang with The Rolling Stones on their 1981 tour. She joined Mick at a huge concert called Live Aid in 1985. They also performed together in 1989 when The Rolling Stones got a big music award. Those shows were so exciting that people still talk about them.

In her book from 2018 called “My Love Story,” Tina wrote about how much fun they had. She said, “Not many women can keep up with Mick Jagger, but we always had the best time.”

Their friendship lasted for many years. In 2021, Tina sent Mick a happy birthday message, saying their times on stage were like golden treasures to her. Mick agreed in his goodbye message, saying Tina was inspiring, warm, funny, and kind.

Mick and Tina weren’t just about music—they were true friends who really liked and respected each other for a lifetime.
