When the smoke clears, only one voice matters — and Mustard made it clear that Gordo’s ain’t it.
This week, producer Gordo, known for his work on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind and For All the Dogs, threw a sarcastic jab after noticing he was unfollowed by Mustard on Instagram.
“Omg just noticed Mustard unfollowed me on IG… Sad day,” he posted on X.
“Headlining Coachella must of got to his head.”
But Mustard wasn’t about to let that slide — and he didn’t need to name names. Instead, he let JAY-Z do the talking.
In a slick Instagram post captioned “We not the same,” the West Coast hitmaker dropped a clip of Hov from a past interview saying:
“Are you kidding me? Who are you guys talking to? What have you done to even have an opinion on what I been doing? You done nothing to even have an opinion.”
The message? Loud and clear. And in case anyone forgot, Mustard has been on the frontlines of the anti-Drake movement ever since Kendrick Lamar lit the rap world on fire.
Last November, during his set at Camp Flog Gnaw, Mustard faked out the crowd with a Drake track — only to pull the plug and play Kendrick’s “Like That” instead, the very song that kickstarted the most intense rap beef in recent memory.
And this beef runs deep.
In an interview last year, Mustard shut down any idea of working with Drake again, saying:
“I don’t think I want to make a song with that dude. He’s a strange guy.”
He even gave Drake advice on how to recover from the Kendrick war:
“You don’t need to do all that other shit. Just make good music and you’ll be fine.”
If that wasn’t enough, Mustard also joined Kendrick on stage at the Super Bowl, producing and performing “TV Off” — a not-so-subtle nod to shutting Drake all the way down.
So when Gordo cried over an Instagram unfollow? Mustard hit him with wisdom, swagger, and a reminder:
“We not the same.”
