After Ozzy Osbourne told Variety that “only [his] best is good enough,” he took aim at some of his contemporaries, adding. “I see these f***in’ bands from the Woodstock era and they sing their one all-time hit and they barely even move, and you think, ‘What the f*** is he tryin’ to do?'” It’s delivered in the blunter than a brick way in which you would have expected from Ozzy, but the meaning behind his words mattered the most here.
Ozzy never wanted to phone in his performances and deliver anything less than his audiences expected from him. Simultaneously, he understood that he couldn’t outrun Father Time forever, so he needed to adjust and perform in a smarter and efficient way. This was evident in his final show.
