Riley Green didn’t just release new music this week — he turned it into a full-blown surprise rollout that fans are still trying to unpack.

In a move that caught listeners off guard, the country star dropped a brand-new single while simultaneously revealing major details about his next studio album, setting off a wave of excitement across social media within hours.

Coming off a standout stretch in his career — including an ACM Award win for Music Event of the Year — Green is entering a moment that already feels like a turning point. With television opportunities expanding, touring in full swing, and new music arriving faster than expected, the Alabama native is keeping fans on high alert for what comes next.

The latest surprise began with a simple announcement: a new single titled “Think As You Drunk” was on the way.

On May 25, Green teased the release with a stripped-back promotional image showing him lying on a barroom floor, beer stein raised in hand — a visual that immediately signaled the song’s lighthearted tone. Three days later, the track officially arrived on streaming platforms.

Built around humor and classic country storytelling, the song leans into a familiar honky-tonk theme: a man insisting he’s more in control than his behavior suggests. The playful chorus quickly became a talking point among fans, especially for its clever wordplay:

“I ain’t as think as you drunk I am
Don’t pay no mind to this mountain of crushed up cans
No, I can’t say my C B A’s
But I can sing ya every song that jukebox plays.”

The track closes with a nod that longtime country fans instantly recognized — a sample of Good As I Once Was by Toby Keith, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to the release.

According to Green, the inclusion wasn’t accidental. In a conversation with Billboard, he explained that the team shared the track with Toby Keith’s family and manager during development, who interpreted it as a respectful tribute — eventually leading to approval involving Keith’s vocal presence in the final version.

But the surprises didn’t stop with the single.

At the same time “Think As You Drunk” hit streaming platforms, fans noticed a hidden countdown quietly appearing on Green’s official website. As it ticked down, it revealed the bigger picture: a new album titled That’s Just Me, arriving September 18.

The upcoming project is set to include 19 tracks, making it one of Green’s most extensive releases to date. Alongside the new single, the album will also feature previously released material such as “My Way,” suggesting a blend of new storytelling and familiar fan favorites.

The rollout adds another layer to what is already shaping up to be a packed year for the country star. His previous album, Don’t Mind If I Do, released in 2024, included collaborations with major names such as Luke Bryan and Ella Langley, further cementing his place among modern country’s most visible mainstream voices.

Outside the studio, Green continues to expand his presence beyond music. His ongoing Cowboy As It Gets tour keeps him on the road throughout 2026, while upcoming television appearances — including a coaching role on The Voice — signal a growing crossover into broader entertainment spaces.

He also recently made his acting debut in the series Marshals, marking another step into scripted television.

Still, despite the growing list of projects, it’s the music that continues to drive the conversation.

And with a 19-track album now officially on the horizon, fans are beginning to suspect that That’s Just Me might not just be another release — but a defining moment in Riley Green’s career.
