Sabrina Carpenter and Dolly Parton’s Wild Ride: Crime, Drama, and a Breakup Hint in the ‘Please Please Please’ Music Video

Sabrina Carpenter has had an amazing month! She won two Grammy awards, appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine, and now she’s teaming up with the legendary Dolly Parton for some fun. On Friday, Carpenter released a special deluxe version of her album Short n’ Sweet. It includes a new version of her song “Please Please Please,” which is now a duet with Parton. Of course, they made a music video for it, and it’s super exciting! The video feels like a mix of a fun crime story, a colorful adventure, and a road trip with two best friends.

Dolly Parton has been a big inspiration for Carpenter’s album, especially on songs like “Please Please Please” and “Slim Pickins,” so it’s no surprise they’re working together. The new video isn’t exactly a continuation of the first “Please Please Please” video, but it feels connected. In the video, Carpenter and Parton drive a pickup truck down quiet country roads. Sometimes they look back at the truck bed, where something mysterious is happening. Most of the video shows how great these two look singing and having fun together. But at the end, we find out they’ve tied up a man and put him in the back of the truck with a sack over his head! If you look closely, he’s wearing clothes that remind people of Barry Keoghan, who was in the original video. It’s like a silly hint that he wasn’t a very nice guy.

Some people think this video might be Carpenter’s way of talking about her breakup with Keoghan without saying it directly. Either way, it’s a fun surprise for Valentine’s Day!
