Snoop Dogg is celebrating the arrival of his eighth grandchild after his daughter, Cori Broadus, gave birth to her first child three months early.
Cori Broadus Welcomes Baby Girl at 25 Weeks
The 25-year-old announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram on February 28, sharing a heartfelt post with a picture of the newborn’s foot.
“The princess arrived at 6 months,” Cori wrote.
She also opened up about her emotions following the early delivery, saying:
“I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what, God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far.”
Cori’s Pregnancy Complications and NICU Stay
Cori revealed that her daughter was born via C-section and is currently in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Her pregnancy was considered high-risk due to her battle with lupus and a dangerous pregnancy condition called HELLP syndrome. According to the Cleveland Clinic, HELLP syndrome affects the liver and blood system and can be life-threatening if left untreated.
Snoop Dogg Hoped for a Grandson
Cori previously shared that her parents were thrilled about the pregnancy, with Snoop hoping for a boy.
“My mom and dad were so excited, their baby girl is having a baby. My dad was hoping for a grandson, though,” she told E! News last year.
Cori Broadus’ Health Struggles
Cori has faced multiple health challenges in recent years. In January 2023, she suffered a severe stroke and was rushed to the hospital.
At the time, she posted on Instagram:
“I had a severe stroke this am [two teary-eyed emojis] I started breaking down crying when they told me.”
Cori has also been living with lupus since being diagnosed at just six years old. Despite her struggles, she has been focusing on natural healing and lifestyle changes. In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, she shared:
“I’ve stopped taking all my medication… I’m just doing everything natural—herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. My body is getting used to the new program.”
