Metallica is currently in Las Vegas for their residency at the Sphere, and their frontman James Hetfield‘s appearance on a different jumbotron yesterday, October 4, seems to have fans all in a tizzy for one reason or another.
That’s because Hetfield and his new fiancée, journalist turned fashion designer Adriana Gillett, kissed each other on the big screen at the Allegiant Stadium, where the Las Vegas Raiders play. A fan-filmed clip of the kiss has been making the rounds, with the original poster jokingly writing “This isn’t kiss cam” to caption the Instagram post, with the actual clip itself having “Get a room, James. There’s children here” written across the top of it. Hetfield and Gillett were mere sitting next to each other giggling and enjoying the vibes as the camera panned over to them, prompting Hetfield to lean over and give her a quick peck. So, that’s news, apparently.
Hetfiled proposed to Gillett back in March of this year in a pretty cute way. The two, who have reportedly been together since 2023, were on a scuba dive with whale sharks when he all of a sudden pulled out a sign popping the question to her. A date for their wedding has yet to be announced.
Metallica‘s “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere started last week on October 1. It’s set to run for the next few months, spanning across 24 scheduled shows so far that will go until March 13 of next year. The first show of their residency saw them play 16 songs, including hits like “Battery” and “Master of Puppets” among many others, but also saw them unearthing a couple of classics for the first time in a while. They also played “Now That We’re Dead” live for the first time since 2021, and “…And Justice for All,” which they performed lived for the first since 2014.
