2Pac Wanted To Make An Album With Aaliyah, Suge Knight Says: ‘He Lost His Mind Over [Her]’

Suge Knight has revealed that 2Pac was eager to sign Aaliyah and work on an album with her before his passing.

Speaking from prison in an interview with Art of Dialogue on February 13, Knight shared that Pac was captivated by Aaliyah after seeing her perform at a Gladys Knight concert in Las Vegas.

“2Pac wanted to sign Aaliyah,” Suge said. “He saw her perform and was instantly sold. He said, ‘I wanna do an album with Aaliyah.’ Pac was so excited. I’d never seen him that happy. Out of all the women he’d ever seen, he thought she was the biggest star with the best voice.”

Suge added, “If things had gone differently, Pac would’ve done an album with Aaliyah. He was obsessed. He talked about her for days—I got tired of hearing it.”

In other news, 2Pac’s alleged killer, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, will now face charges after a judge ruled that he does not have immunity.

Court records from Clark County, Nevada, show that Judge Carli Kierny denied Keefe D’s motion to dismiss the case. Filed on January 6, the motion claimed that delays in the case had violated his constitutional rights by causing lost evidence and witness disappearances.

Keefe’s attorney argued that Las Vegas police have had key evidence since 2009, and the long delay has compromised his right to a fair trial. The motion also claimed that the prosecution’s case relies only on Keefe D’s own statements since many involved, including Suge Knight and Diddy, are either deceased or incarcerated.

The filing also alleged that Keefe D was initially granted immunity by authorities, leading him to share details about the 1996 shooting. One of these agreements was reportedly made with the LAPD during their investigation into the murder of The Notorious B.I.G.
