Coldplay’s concert turns emotional when Michael J. Fox performs and Chris Martin honors him as their hero

Michael J Fox has celebrated the “mind-blowing” experience of performing with Coldplay during their headline set at Glastonbury on Saturday night (29th June).

Armed with a pink guitar, the 63-year-old acting legend guest appeared with Coldplay on The Pyramid Stage for two songs, ‘Humankind’ and ‘Fix You’.

Praising Michael, Chris Martin told the 120,000-strong crowd: “The main reason we’re in a band is because of watching Back to the Future.

“Thank you to our hero forever and one of the most amazing people on Earth, Mr. Michael J. Fox. Thank you so much Michael, our hero.”

During ‘Fix You’, Chris broke into a short snippet of Chuck Berry’s ‘Johnny B. Goode’, which Michael’s character Marty McFly famously performs at a high school dance in the first Back to the Future movie.

A day after the performance, Michael J Fox took to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes photos and praise Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.

“Glastonbury all the love and thanks to the @coldplay team who took such great care of us. And many thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil,” Michael wrote.

“Oh yeah in case you were wondering…it was f*cking mind blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time. This is @coldplay’s time.”

Michael previously guest performed with Coldplay at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey back in July 2016.
