Kelly Osbourne reveals poignant final message from dad Ozzy before his death

Kelly Osbourne has opened up about one of the most painful moments of her life, revealing the deeply emotional message her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, gave her just three days before his death.

Speaking on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast, Kelly recalled one of her final conversations with her father and revealed that Ozzy wanted to make sure she knew just how much he loved her.

The emotional exchange happened shortly before the Black Sabbath icon died at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025. Kelly explained that her father told her he wanted her to always remember that he truly loved her. The simple reassurance left Kelly overwhelmed, and she admitted that she immediately became emotional.

Kelly recalled becoming upset because Ozzy was speaking in a way that made her feel as though he might be preparing to say goodbye. She did not want to imagine that their time together was coming to an end.

For Kelly, the conversation has since taken on an even greater significance because it became one of the last meaningful exchanges she ever shared with her father.

Ozzy died peacefully at his Buckinghamshire home surrounded by his family, including wife Sharon and children Aimee, Jack and Kelly. His death came just weeks after what became his final performance, when he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the Back to the Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham on July 5, 2025.

The performance had been an enormous personal milestone for Ozzy, whose health had deteriorated significantly in his final years. Despite his physical struggles, he was determined to take the stage one last time and perform alongside Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and the musicians who helped create heavy metal history.

Kelly has previously spoken about how important that final performance was to her father and praised her mother, Sharon, for helping make his final wish possible. She described the event as a historic moment and a fitting farewell for the legendary musician.

But behind the spectacle of Ozzy’s final concert was a much more private reality for his family.

Kelly has been open about how profoundly her father’s death affected her. In the months since his passing, she has spoken about grief, describing the loss as something that fundamentally changed her life. She has also reflected on Ozzy not simply as a global rock star, but as her father, protector and one of the most important people in her world.

That makes his final message to her particularly poignant.

While Ozzy spent decades performing for millions of people around the world, his final words to Kelly were not about music, fame or his legacy. They were about love.

For Kelly, those words now remain as one of her most precious memories of her father.

Ozzy Osbourne may have left behind an extraordinary musical legacy, but to his daughter, he was something much more personal — her dad, her hero and someone whose love she will carry with her for the rest of her life.

And three days before his death, he made sure she knew it.
