Rihanna isn’t letting anyone throw shade at her family — especially her babies. Over the weekend, the superstar celebrated International Women’s Day by posting a heartfelt tribute to motherhood, sharing side-by-side photos from the births of her two sons.
“By far the most powerful thing I’ve ever done as a woman… my little miracles!” she wrote.
“And yes, I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses… don’t ask, a lot was happening.”
But when The Shade Room reposted her moment, a commenter criticized her sons’ names, writing:
“I hate their names so bad.”
Rihanna didn’t miss a beat, responding calmly but cuttingly:
“ok tatiana.”
The Story Behind RZA & Riot Rose
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 2022, named after the iconic Wu-Tang Clan leader. The name choice pays homage to hip-hop culture and mirrors Rocky’s own roots, since his real name was inspired by rap legend Rakim.
Even RZA himself reacted positively to the name, saying:
“It’s an honor… I salute her and A$AP. All the blessings in the world from me.”
Their second son, Riot Rose, arrived in August 2023, with a name that’s just as unique. Rihanna revealed in an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR that Pharrell Williams suggested the name — initially thinking they were having a girl.
“Pharrell is very deep. He’s not surface,” Rihanna said, highlighting the thought behind the name.
Is “A$AP Joe” Next?
In a fun twist, the couple jokingly told their lawyer Joe Tacopina, who defended A$AP Rocky in his recent legal battle, that their next child will be named “A$AP Joe.”
Tacopina shared the moment in an interview with Extra, recalling how emotional the trial was for Rocky and how deeply appreciative he was, saying:
“Joe, I just want you to know, I know how hard you fought here… We’re in this together, no matter what, and I love you.”
Tacopina called it one of the most touching moments of his career.
