The Beatles’ final meeting with George Harrison just weeks before his death was beautiful

George Harrison was a famous musician from the band The Beatles. Toward the end of his life, he got to spend some special time with his old friends and bandmates, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. On November 12, 2001, just 17 days before he passed away, the three of them met up in a hotel in New York City. George’s wife, Olivia, and his doctor were there too. They talked about old times, laughed a lot, and shared some quiet moments together.

Paul said it was a really touching visit. He remembered how they made jokes and had fun, even holding hands, which they had never done before. He thought it was a sweet and happy time, even though George was very sick.

Ringo also got to see George one more time in Switzerland. When Ringo had to leave to visit his daughter, who was also sick, George made a little joke. He asked, “Do you want me to come with you?” Those were the last words he said to Ringo, showing his funny side even then.

George passed away peacefully on November 29, 2001, with his wife, son, and close friends by his side. His family said he left the world calmly, thinking about God and not afraid of dying. Even at the end, George showed how much he loved the people around him.
