Will Smith has hinted that he may be stepping back into the iconic role of Agent J for a fourth Men in Black movie.

Speaking on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo, the Oscar-winning actor revealed he had planned to move away from sequels — until a surprising new offer came his way.

“I told myself I was done with sequels. I was like, ‘I’ve made enough sequels. I got some new things I want to make,’” Smith said. “Literally this morning, an hour before I came down here, they just threw the bag for another Men in Black. I was like, ‘Ah, I’m supposed to be going on tour this summer!’”

Smith also suggested that filming could begin after his summer tour, which runs from June 25 to September 2 in support of his new album Based on a True Story.

The last time fans saw Will Smith in the franchise was Men in Black 3 in 2012. Both he and co-star Tommy Lee Jones were absent from the 2019 film Men in Black: International, which struggled at the box office and failed to impress critics.

Reports from last year suggest Sony Pictures is eager to fix the mistakes made in the previous film. According to Insider Fandom, studio executives believe Smith’s absence was a key reason the movie underperformed, and they are now focused on bringing him back to revive the franchise.

Outside of acting, Smith has returned to music after a 20-year break with the release of Based on a True Story, a deeply personal 14-track album. The project addresses major moments in his life, including his marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith and the incident at the 2022 Oscars where he slapped Chris Rock.

On the track “You Lookin’ For Me?”, he raps: “Personal life with my wife — mind your business, it’s complicated.”
Another track opens with barbershop-style commentary, including the lines: “I heard he won the Oscar but he had to give it back / And you know they only made him do that shit because he’s Black” and “He’s only still relevant because of his kids.”

Will Smith’s potential return to Men in Black and his re-entry into the music world signal a major career moment — one fans are watching closely.
