Xzibit is back, and he’s bringing the heat with his new album Kingmaker, his first release in over a decade since 2012’s Napalm. Set to hit on May 16, this 20-track project is stacked with hip-hop legends and fresh talent alike, proving the West Coast icon still has serious pull. Known for hosting Pimp My Ride, Xzibit’s stepping back into the rap game with a lineup that’s got everyone talking.

The Kingmaker tracklist is a who’s-who of rap royalty. Heavyweights like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, and Royce Da 5’9″ are on board, blending that classic vibe with Xzibit’s signature style. But he’s not just leaning on the old guard—newer names like Ty Dolla $ign, Symba, JasonMartin (formerly Problem), Domo Genesis, and Guapdad 4000 add a modern twist, keeping it fresh for today’s listeners.

This album’s dropping through Greenback Records, a new label started by UFC champ Conor McGregor, who’s also signed Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Kingmaker faced some delays—Xzibit said on social media he was tweaking it with “last-minute additions”—but it’s finally ready to roll.

Xzibit got real about the project with NME, especially its lead single, “Play This At My Funeral.” “It’s not about dying,” he explained. “It’s a snapshot of where I am—mentally, physically, emotionally. It’s dope to come back and show people what I’ve been up to.” He added that music’s his core, even with all his TV and film gigs. “I’ve been working on stuff for years, but it wasn’t different enough—until now. I heard something new in myself, and I knew it was time.”

From Dr. Dre to fresh faces like Symba, Kingmaker bridges Xzibit’s past and present, promising a mix of hard-hitting bars and that West Coast flavor fans crave. Get ready—this one’s about to shake things up.
