Celine Dion Moves Barry Gibb to Tears with ‘Immortality’ Tribute

In 1997, something special happened when the Bee Gees, a famous band made up of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb, teamed up with the amazing singer Céline Dion. Together, they created a beautiful song called “Immortality.” The Bee Gees wrote the song super fast, in just four minutes, and they knew right away that Céline’s voice was perfect for it.

The song was part of Céline’s album Let’s Talk About Love, which also had her huge hit “My Heart Will Go On.” Even though that song became really famous, many people loved “Immortality” just as much. It was a song about love that lasts forever, and when it came out as a single in 1998, it reached number five on the music charts in the UK.

Céline and the Bee Gees didn’t just make music together—they became good friends. They cared about each other a lot. Sadly, Maurice passed away in 2003, and Robin passed away in 2012. That was really hard for everyone, but their music and friendship kept their memory alive.

In 2017, Céline did something very touching to honor her friends. She sang “Immortality” at a special event called Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees. While she sang, pictures of the Bee Gees played on a screen, and the voices of the brothers could be heard in the song. It made everyone feel emotional.

Barry Gibb, the only brother still alive, was in the audience, watching with tears in his eyes. Céline walked to him while singing, and when the song ended, she gave him a big hug. It was a moment full of love and remembering their friendship.

“Immortality” is more than just a song now. It’s a way to celebrate the Bee Gees, their music, and the friendship they shared with Céline. It reminds us that even when people are gone, their love and songs can stay with us forever.
