Piers Morgan and Kanye West have a history. In 2022, after West went on a public tirade against people of the Jewish faith during which he said he wanted to go “Defcon 3” on all Jewish people, the rapper and producer sat down for an interview on Morgan’s show, Uncensored.
At one point in the exchange, West called Morgan a “Karen” and accused him of not feeling his pain. The Graduation creator also explained his behaviour and asserted that he had “suffered from exhaustion” and “being lied to” by his management.
In a more recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, the host unpacked West’s rants since their last conversation and highlighted the multiple times the emcee has professed his love for Adolf Hitler. Furthermore, he reminded viewers of West’s decision to wear a Klansman robe while speaking to DJ Akademiks.
Now, in what came as a bigger shock to viewers was the revelation that West had a more recent interview with Morgan in Spain with Sneako, during which he stormed off set in a tantrum. Piers Morgan expressed during their conversation that he was “grateful” for the opportunity to interview him, but from there, it went awry.
Morgan suggested that, despite Ye’s assertion that he was feeling happy, his social media posts seem to convey anger and hatred. West then berated Morgan about his error after stating he had 32 million followers. The rapper began by asking Morgan “Why are you taking inches off my dick?” He then insisted that broadcast journalists are idiotic and hypocritical in their coverage of him.
Addressing journalists in general, Ye exclaimed, “I mean, why do all you people in media act like you haven’t played my songs at your weddings or graduations or at funerals, and when your child was born? You know, you take somebody that’s living like a [John] Lennon, a Michael Jackson, and you just take all this time to, like that nuance right there? It’s idiotic! It just shows the hate that you put out for people that put love. There’s so much love in the art I put out.”
Ye then told him, “We will circle back when you can count right!” Insinuating that Morgan got the number of X followers he had wrong. After a relatively pointless back-and-forth with Sneako, who quickly turned the interview into an argument, Morgan asked him to relay a message to Kanye, instructing Sneako to tell West he was a “Snivelling little coward!”
