The Ozzfest music festival has been confirmed for Villa Park next year.
The heavy metal festival, founded by Ozzy and wife Sharon Osbourne, will take place at the same ground where Black Sabbath played their final gig in July 2025.
Back to the Beginning, the biggest heavy metal gig in history, took place just weeks before The Prince of Darkness died aged 76 following a long health battle.
Ozzfest stopping at Villa Park was described as a poignant tribute to Ozzy’s last performance at the ground.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Ozzfest wrote: “Ozzfest 2027 at Aston Villa’s Villa Park.
“More info on everything coming soon.”
It also confirmed US tour dates would be announced in due course.
BirminghamLive previously reported how Sharon discussed plans with son Jack on the family’s official podcast to bring the festival back.
The matriarch of the Osbourne family said two dates for Villa Park were being planned.
Over the years, Ozzfest has featured an array of artists specialising in rock and metal.
Heavy metal fans, reacting to the Villa Park announcement in the comments, said it was “phenomenal news” and would “keep Ozzy’s legacy alive”.
One fan said: “I went to the Back to the Beginning gig, so it’s obvious I’ll go to this.”
Another said: “Ozzfest with no Ozzy is just gonna hit harder this time.”
A third added: “I’d love to go. I’ve been wanting to go to an Ozzfest for a long time.”
