Phil Collins, the iconic Genesis frontman, has announced his retirement from live performances due to ongoing health issues. At 74, Collins revealed that he has been “very sick,” attributing his condition to severe nerve damage and drop-foot resulting from a 2007 neck injury. These ailments have significantly impaired his ability to drum and perform, leading to his decision to step away from the stage.
His final concert took place in March 2022 at London’s O2 Arena, marking the end of Genesis’s “The Last Domino?” tour. Due to his physical limitations, Collins performed seated, with his son Nic Collins filling in on drums. Despite the challenges, the performance was a poignant farewell to fans and a testament to Collins’s enduring legacy in the music industry.
