Country star Scotty McCreery has garnered legions of fans since winning “American Idol” season 10, but his son one of them? McCreery recently took to Instagram to share a funny story about his 2-year-old son Avery’s reaction to his singing.
McCreery explained that he was singing “I’m the Map!” from the cartoon series “Dora the Explorer” to his son. “He just goes, ‘Dad, what song is that?’” McCreery continued, “I said it’s called ‘The Map.’” To which Avery replied, “Is that your new song?” with a sour look on his face.
“I was like no … come on now,” McCreery joked. “The judging,” he added with a laugh.
Scotty McCreery’s Son Has Been Having a Fun Summer
McCreery and Avery, who turns 3 in October, have been having a blast this summer according to the “In Between” singer’s Instagram account. In July, McCreery posted a sweet video clip of him and Avery jumping into the water together wearing matching blue shorts and red life jackets.
Fans loved the video and posted comments such as, “This is absolutely precious 😍best daddy award 🥇” and “We’re all excited too Avery!!
In August, McCreery posted a video of Avery hanging out on a golf course, raking a sand trap in his bare feet. “Little man rakes his first bunker” the singer wrote over the video and captioned it, “Teaching the importance of golf etiquette 🏌️♂️”
McCreery and his wife, Gabi, are expanding their family and baby number 2 is on the way soon! The couple announced their happy news in an Instagram post back in May which featured the two of them in white tees plus Avery rocking a sweatshirt with the words “Big Brother” on the front.
“A new best friend coming this fall! 💙💙” Gabi, a pediatric nurse, captioned the adorable family photo.
On August 25, McCreery posted yet another sweet family pic, this time with Gabi’s hand on her visible baby bump. The McCreery’s posed in front of their vehicle, with the caption, “Last bus weekend as a family of 3!”
Fans took to the comments again to share in the family’s excitement and wish them well. “Congratulations 🎉 that’s so exciting 😍❤️” one fan wrote, while another commented, “God bless the delivery and may baby and mom be safe, healthy and happy🥰 “
