The Voice Fans Call Joe Henley the Next Winner After His Keith Whitley Cover Surpasses 3 Million Views and Kelly Clarkson Makes a Prediction

The Voice Season 30 contestant Joe Henley is quickly becoming a fan favorite after his emotional cover of Keith Whitley’s Don’t Close Your Eyes caught the attention of viewers online. The 19-year-old Alabama singer, who had never performed on stage before joining the NBC singing competition, earned a standing ovation from all four coaches during Cut Week.

His performance has now surpassed 3 million views across social media, adding to the growing excitement surrounding his journey on Team Riley Green. Fans have flooded the comments with praise, with many already predicting that Joe could win the entire season.

Kelly Clarkson was among the first coaches to react strongly to his voice. As Joe delivered the opening notes, Kelly and Riley shook their heads in disbelief. After the performance, Kelly praised his natural tone and made a bold prediction about his future.

“Oh, my gosh. From the first notes out of your mouth that natural tone of your voice is incredible,” Kelly told him. “If you’re not in the finale, I would be mind blown.”

Riley also praised Joe’s ability to honor Keith Whitley’s distinctive country style while making the song his own. He described Joe as naturally talented and joked that if he could sing like the young contestant, he would be rich and famous.

The reaction is especially notable because Joe’s place in the Live Shows has not yet been confirmed. During Cut Week, each coach must select two artists to advance directly, while the remaining five compete for one additional spot. America will later vote for another contestant, creating a Top 13.

Fans Are Already Predicting Joe’s Victory

Joe’s growing popularity has led many viewers to speak as if the competition is already decided. Several fans praised his performance while confidently naming him their choice to win Season 30.

“And the winner is…Joe Henley,” one viewer wrote.

Another fan declared, “Here’s your winner in my book.”

A third comment read, “Voice WINNER right there!!!! Show me where to buy his album now!!!”

Other viewers focused on his ability to bring a country classic to life. “I closed my eyes & saw Keith Whitley,” one fan shared.

One supporter also questioned why Joe might not receive one of Riley’s two automatic spots, writing, “He should’ve been one of the two Riley advanced before the performances! He is SENSATIONAL!”

Another viewer expressed hope for his future beyond the show: “Whatever happens with the voice, I hope someone signs you!! I love listening to your voice!!”

Joe’s journey has already included several memorable moments. During the Blind Auditions, he earned chair turns from Riley and Kelly with Travis Tritt’s Anymore before choosing Riley as his coach. He later defeated teammate Kenna Elpers in the Battles with Don’t Mind If I Do, the duet originally recorded by Riley and Ella Langley.

Kelly predicted during his Blind Audition that Joe could win the season. Now, after his Keith Whitley cover earned a standing ovation and attracted millions of views, that early prediction is gaining even more attention.

Joe’s fate will become clearer during The Voice’s Cut Week episode on Monday, November 2, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with streaming available on Peacock the following day.
