Kanye West once again sent social media into a frenzy on Monday (April 1) with a wild stream of posts that praised Drake, bashed J. Cole, and reopened wounds regarding the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh.

Ye shared a clip from Drake’s “Nokia” video and reflected on their love-hate relationship.

“How I hate Drake and I’m team Drake at the same time,” he posted. “Life is funny like that. It’s the weird thing where I feel closest to Drake outta anybody in rap.”

He then doubled down on his admiration, posting simply: “Drake #1.”

But the praise for Drake came with a flip side—harsh criticism of J. Cole. Ye didn’t hold back, calling out Cole’s music and his role in the rap industry.

“I hate J. Cole music so much,” West wrote. “It’s like between Kendrick and J. Cole… I bet you industry plants asked J. Cole to diss Drake. Then we would’ve been accosted with a J. Cole Super Bowl commercial with no SZA song to save it.”

He went even further, taking a personal jab:

“No one listens to J. Cole after losing their virginity.”

West also revealed he vented about Cole during a past meeting with Drake:

“When I met up with Drake during Donda, most of the convo was me telling him he was hurting hip hop by giving J. Cole a platform. I was saying how much I loved Future.”

Not stopping there, Kanye brought up Virgil Abloh, the late fashion icon who rose through the ranks of Louis Vuitton and Off-White. Ye expressed resentment over being overlooked.

“Imagine someone steals your dream and is given your crown because he didn’t wear a red hat. Then the culture you built gets mad at you for speaking on it.”

He also expressed frustration with friends who didn’t support him during that time.

In a recent interview, Kanye declared Drake “a million times better” and “a million times more important” than Kendrick Lamar, crediting him for shaping modern hip-hop and influencing artists like Future and Young Thug.

Just last month, Ye made headlines for saying he was jealous of Drake and even joked that he wanted Drake to speak at his funeral.
